Cat things.

I have a cat. Zelda Katt. She is a rescue from The Cat House in Lincoln, NE and I love her to pieces. This is really just  a post for some of the new pictures of her in my house. Everyone was so worried that she would have so much trouble adjusting to farm life. Nah, not Zelda. She just lays around, chases stuff, and stares out the windows. She does occasionally go outside, but only when I am out there. We do this thing, where I put her halter and leash on, and I sit on the porch and she walks about 5 feet and lays down. She loves it here...she gets to go wherever she wants (besides the counters), and she can just flat run through the house.

Door things.

I recently moved into a large...old...farmhouse...

and this large, old farmhouse has 4 doors. FOUR. And each of these doors could be consider the "front door". The UPS guy thinks the door going out to the deck is the front door. The internet guy thinks the door visible in the above picture is the front door. My mom thinks the door coming off the kitchen is the front door. I personally think the door facing the driveway is the front door. This front door confusion has caused some...issues. People knock on doors you can't hear from the other side of the house, the UPS guy leaves packages in strange places, and the internet guy just stands there and stares at the doors. Also, I have to go around and lock all four doors every night, because I tend to go out which ever one is closest to me when I decide to walk outside...and of course, the locks all take different keys.

Now, a normal person probably wouldn't worry about all these door things. I, on the other hand, had to find a solution, and fast. You know what I did? I bought doorbells. LOTS of doorbells. And set them all to different tones, and put the speakers all over the house. The UPS dude will never leave my package outside when I am home ever again!

Yes, you just read an entire blog post about doors. Sorry.

It's all in the name...

A few years back, I saw Scott Pilgrim vs the World in theaters. I immediately fell in "lesbians" with this movie,  and demanded that I read the graphic novels.
One of the chapters is titled, "Things Keep Happening". For some weird, unknown reason, this phrase really struck me. Yeah, you know...things do keep happening. Bad things, good things, hard things. Things will keep happening after we all die, things will keep happening after today. Things will always keep happening. Since reading this, I repeat this mantra to myself often. Lately, it has been when stressful things have been happening.

Since I have uprooted my self, my cat, and my life recently, I thought I should make a blog of things that keep happening. For those of you who don't know, I just got my internet hooked up yesterday. While living here for 24 days without a connection to the world, I entertained myself by writing a few random blog entries.  I'm going to go ahead and copy and paste them into this new blog.
